We offer a range of services to improve your well-being, from allergy treatments (SAAT) to acupuncture and auricular medicine.
See below to find out more information!
Auricular Medicine
Auricular Medicine (AM) is a very sensitive system of treatment that is based on the energetic properties of individual organs and tissues. It is non-invasive and does not use any needles. To treat, bio-energetic imprinted remedies are used to support the immune system to self-regulate and work optimally to address underlying issues, such as viruses, bacteria, parasites, fungi, toxicities, geopathic stresses, mast cell activation syndrome, etc.
This type of care is particularly helpful in cases that are perplexing to Western Medicine, such as chronic pain, auto-immune disorders, hypersensitivity, fatigue, viral infections, and suspected tick-borne illnesses that are not detected on serum testing, among most other types of health concerns.
In a perfect world, everyone would use AM as a preventative form of medicine.
All patients of all ages can benefit from AM.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient form of medicine that works to establish even flow and movement of the energy and substances within the body. Using acupuncture, lasers, acupressure, or other interventions to the acupuncture channels, we are able to change the flow of qi, which improves the overall functioning of the body. Acupuncture, at its core, is looking at the relationship between the mind, body, and spirit to heal. It focuses on finding the root cause of pain and/or illness, instead of treating only the symptoms.
We treat patients dealing with issues including—but not limited to—pain, injuries, surgery prevention, digestive issues, PTSD, stress, women’s issues, sleep problems, anger management, allergies, depression, chronic illnesses, fibromyalgia, and acute illnesses. We work with the patient to develop a deeper awareness of his/her own body to support the intuitive healing nature of the human body.
Additionally, under the umbrella of acupuncture, we utilize cupping, gua sha, and moxibustion (a.k.a. moxa). We also proudly use the AcuGraph system. This system measures your channel flow and tracks your progress over time to help guide your treatments to maximize channel flow.
Patients of all ages benefit from acupuncture. We have practitioners that are passionate about pediatrics all the way to senior care.
Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment
Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment (SAAT) is a technique that provides long-lasting relief from allergy symptoms. Usually, the allergic response has no recurrence after this one-time treatment using one needle per allergen. The needle is a very small Spinex needle that is then covered by small, circular bandages. It can address allergies ranging from environmental to food to medications. This treatment approach has been in practice for over 10 years with amazing results. It is effective on children and adults suffering from allergies and intolerances.
Auricular Therapy / Ear Seeds
The ear is a microsystem of the entire body, and we can effect change using needles or ear seeds to deal with pain, digestion, breathing, stress, PTSD, grief, and so much more! Auricular Therapy (different from Auricular Medicine) is a complex, multi-phase system of care that allows us to treat the body at different phases of disease progression.
By using overlaying ear maps, we can go deep to the root of problems to promote healing. Usually, we insert very small acupuncture needles while the patient sits to meditate/relax for a short amount of time. Depending on the patient’s specific needs, though, we may recommend wearing a Spinex needle longer-term for more permanent relief and/or healing.
Additionally, for people hesitant about acupuncture needles, we offer ear seeds. Ear seeds are worn in order to provide acupressure to specific areas to promote healing.
CranioSacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a system of care that is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to effect change in the soft tissues surrounding the central nervous system using the cranial sacral system. The cranial sacral system is comprised of the membranes and fluid that surround, protect, and nourish the brain and spinal cord.
The natural rhythm and flow of our cerebral spinal fluid is interrupted during our daily lives. CST checks where restrictions in flow are located and helps return flow to normal. Children and adults both enjoy this healing modality.
We see tremendous benefits using CST in all patients, including patients dealing with (but not limited to) pain, headaches, sports injuries, concussions, stress, TMJ, scoliosis, ADD/ADHD/learning disabilities, PTSD, and orthopedic problems. If you have an acute aneurysm, cerebral hemorrhage, or other preexisting severe bleeding disorders, then CST is not the right treatment of choice for you. Please advise us of your condition.
Health Coaching
Health coaching is a client-centered approach to behavioral change that supports you in working towards your health goals by capitalizing on your strengths and your values.
You will develop a better understanding of the process for change and acquire the tools you need to tackle new health challenges. These are skills that you will use even after you complete coaching with Mindy.
What topics are appropriate for coaching? Mindy uses the Wheel of Health, a whole-person health coaching model developed by Vanderbilt University. It covers the familiar topics of sleep, nutrition, and movement, but it also includes your environment, daily rhythm and balance, mind-body connection, relationships and community, and spirit and soul. Each segment of the wheel opens up the possibility for expansive discussions.
For example, daily rhythm and balance can include honoring circadian rhythms as well as planning time for self-care. Environment could include a range of topics: lighting, air quality, decluttering, hanging favorite art pieces, or building a playlist for background music. In addition to the standard topics of the Wheel of Health, there is also a wildcard category for anything health-related that concerns clients, such as the blessing and curse of technology, medication compliance, tobacco cessation, hormonal concerns, and more.
Why do health coaching at FBT? As our patients already know, FBT is a hub of connection where we think about how multiple factors within our lives link to our overall health. We believe that Mindy’s formal education, background in therapy, deep knowledge and application of the Polyvagal Theory, and trauma-informed care perspective offers a rich experience for patients that will complement and enhance the progress they are already making under the care of other FBT providers.
