“We don’t heal in isolation, but in community.”
-S. Kelley Harrell
After Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, a team of acupuncturists formed the worldwide group Acupuncturists Without Borders (AWB). Following AWB’s training and clinic guidelines, Feeling Better Together has partnered with local acupuncturists and Herndon United Methodist Church to offer a free auricular acupuncture clinic for our neighbors.
The ear is an amazing access point to the entire body, as it is a microsystem of the body. In short, we can treat your entire body simply by treating your ear. Practitioners use one to five small, sterile, single-use acupuncture needles in each ear (or apply ear seeds for patients who don’t like needles). With this approach, the ear has the power to act as a “reset button” for the central nervous system. This reset brings a state of calm, quiet, and clarity, so that there are more resources available within the body to promote healing.
This clinic is a quiet, meditative group setting where multiple patients sit in a room together to receive treatment. By coming together to heal in a group, the energy and resiliency of the community changes.
We invite you to quietly sit with your eyes closed during the acupuncture treatment for 30 to 45 minutes of meditation. However, if you only have ten minutes, that will offer benefits, too.
Feeling tired? Stressed? PTSD? Overwhelmed? Sad? Grief-stricken? Anxious? Hurt back or knee? Toothache? Digestion problems? Or some other ailment? Please come join us for a treatment!
Our free clinic is for all our neighbors-in-need and primarily uses one of two research-studied protocols: NADA or 12 Points to Restoration and Balance.
Temporarily suspended due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19. Please continue to check back for updates.
